Description

  • 1 (15.25 oz) box of white or pound cake mix (or homemade cake)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries

Instructions

  • Bake the Cake:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions (or your homemade recipe).
    • Bake in a greased 9×13-inch pan or two round cake pans for the specified time until a toothpick comes out clean.
    • Let the cake cool completely, then cut it into cubes.
  • Make the Whipped Cream:
    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • Assemble the Trifle:
    • In a large glass trifle dish or individual glass cups, layer the dessert as follows:
      • Start with a layer of cake cubes at the bottom.
      • Add a layer of whipped cream on top.
      • Add a layer of mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries).
      • Repeat layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of whipped cream and a few berries for garnish.
  • Chill:
    • Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours (or overnight) to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve:
