Toasted Marshmallow Bourbon Cream

  • Author: mohamed cherif
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon (choose a smooth, mid-range option for the best flavor)
  • 1 oz toasted marshmallow syrup (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 oz heavy cream
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • 1/2 oz chocolate liqueur (optional, for a richer flavor)
  • Toasted marshmallows (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

Preparation

Step 1: Begin by toasting the marshmallows. You can do this over an open flame on a stovetop, using a kitchen torch, or by placing them in a broiler until they are golden and slightly charred. Once toasted, set them aside for garnish later.

Step 2: In a cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, toasted marshmallow syrup, heavy cream, and simple syrup (if desired). If you prefer a richer, chocolatey twist, add the chocolate liqueur to the mix.

Step 3: Add ice cubes to the shaker and secure the lid tightly. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to ensure the ingredients are well combined and the drink is chilled.

Step 4: Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice. If you prefer a chilled drink without extra ice, you can use a chilled martini or coupe glass.

Step 5: Garnish with a few toasted marshmallows on a skewer or place them directly on top of the drink for a rustic and charming presentation. For an added touch, you can drizzle a little extra toasted marshmallow syrup on top of the drink.

Step 6: Serve immediately and enjoy the smoky, creamy goodness of Toasted Marshmallow Bourbon Cream.

Notes

For the best flavor, opt for a good-quality bourbon that isn’t too overpowering, as the toasted marshmallow syrup will provide most of the sweetness. If you’re making your own toasted marshmallow syrup, be sure to toast the marshmallows thoroughly to bring out their full flavor. The syrup can be stored in a sealed bottle for several weeks, making it a great homemade gift for friends and family.

You can toast the marshmallows ahead of time and store them in an airtight container. They can be easily reheated before garnishing or served cold for a less-melted effect.
