It takes easily double the time to cook and almost the double the amount of broth, otherwise the rice is hard and grainy. I’ve tried two different brands of rice as well. I’ve tried cooking it all in a skillet, and have tried cooking the steak in the skillet, transferring the oils over to a pot, making the sauce and cooking the rice in a pot, and I’m coming to the same conclusion: Easily doubling the recommended cooking time and doubling the recommended amount of beef broth. Next time, I think I will try cooking my steak in a skillet and then transferring the oils over to my rice cooker, making the sauce in that (soy sauce, Dijon mustrard, and honey) and then adding the rice and try cooking it in that.
