For the Dough:
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup almond flour
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
- Pinch of salt
For the Topping:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave for 1 minute or until melted. Stir until smooth.
- Add the egg, almond flour, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Mix until it forms a dough.
- Shape the Dough:
- Place the dough on the lined baking sheet. Flatten it into a rectangle about ½ inch thick.
- Bake the Base:
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden. Remove from the oven.
- Add the Toppings:
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter and minced garlic. Brush this mixture over the baked dough.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Final Bake:
- Return to the oven and bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve:
- Let cool slightly, then slice into “fingers.” Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
